2026 Ballet RI Nutcracker Childrens Cast Auditions

Calling all young dancers and performers! Take part in one of the greatest holiday traditions by auditioning for the Nutcracker Childrens Cast!

Saturday, September 19th, 2026
Ages 11+ (2+ years of dance experience and/or ACRO experience) 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Ages 7-10 3:00pm – 4:30pm

Saturday, September 26th, 2026
Ages 13-18 (4+ years dance experience) & Callbacks 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Clara/Fritz Callbacks 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Auditions will be held at Ballet RI 825 Hope St. Providence, RI. Dancers, please bring a 4×6 headshot.

When completing the registration information, please select the appropriate audition date and time for your dancer’s age. Some dancers who audition on September 19th may be invited to attend the callbacks on September 26th.

PLEASE NOTE: REHEARSAL REQUIREMENTS
Dancers who audition should be able to commit to the mandatory rehearsals. No cast member may miss more than two EXCUSED rehearsals.

Additional rehearsals for some roles may be scheduled on weekday afternoons and/or evenings.

Mandatory rehearsal availability (maximum two excused absences allowed): October 10, 17, 24, 31; November 7, 14, 21, 29; December 5
Mandatory rehearsal and parent meeting: November 29
Mandatory tech week rehearsal dates (no conflicts allowed): December 12, 14, 15, 16
Performance dates (no conflicts allowed): December 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 26, 27

No absences will be excused during tech week or performances. Availability on these dates is mandatory, and missing them may result in being pulled from all performances. Most dancers do not perform in every show, and casting will be announced as early as possible.
