Anna Lisa Wilkins

Company Dancer

Born in Springfield, MA, Wilkins received much of her early training from Massachusetts Academy of Ballet and Irina Vakhromeeva in Hadley, Massachusetts. She competed in the NYC Finals of the Youth American Grand Prix, and was awarded a scholarship to the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco. She has attended the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive and the IBStage intensive in Barcelona, Spain, both on full scholarship, as well as the Jacobs Pillow Summer Dance Intensive in 2016 upon the recommendation of Larissa Ponomarenko and Viktor Plotnikov.

She was accepted into the Indiana University Ballet Program on scholarship as a Premier Young Artist, and continued her dance and academic education under the direction of Michael Vernon, Violette Verdy, Sarah Wroth, Kyra Nichols, Carla Korbes, Christian Claessens, and Sasha Janes. Her repertoire at IU includes Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco and Divertimento No. 15, Jerome Robbins’ Fanfare (The Clarinet), NY Export: Opus Jazz, and The Concert (The Wife). She has also performed in the reconstruction of Twyla Tharp’s Deuce Coupe, in Mark Morris’ Sandpaper Ballet, and in principal roles in Bournonville’s Flower Festival in Genzano and Nicole Haskin’s Perpetuality. She graduated in 2019 with a BSOF in Ballet with an Outside Field in Italian, and was accepted into the Kelley School of Business with the goal of completing a business degree in the near future. Upon graduation she joined Ballet Tucson as an Apprentice, where she performed as a Russian Demi Soloist in Balanchine’s Serenade. Wilkins can be seen as the Dew Drop in FBP’s virtual Production released in December 2020. Wilkins also works as a Development Associate and Executive Assistant for Ballet RI.
