Native from São Paulo, Brazil, João Alves started his training at the age 12 at Balleto Dance Studio, where he had pre-professional training and coaching, participating in numerous national and international ballet competitions, some highlights are in 2018 Gold Medal and Best Dancer Award at the “Brasilia International Dance Seminar” as well at the “Goiás International Dance Festival.”

In 2017 was invited as a guest artist to perform La Esmeralda at the “Medonza in Danza” in Mendoza, Argentina. João joined the professional division at The Rock School for Dance Education in 2019, where he performed as a Chinese and Spanish Soloist during The Nutcracker season. Starting his professional career João was invited for the summer season 2022 at AMA Dance Theatre in CT, performing Le Corsaire and contemporary works by guest choreographers. He is very excited be part of Ballet RI to share and grow his dancing alongside these talented dancers!
